I\'m Kaitie, I\'m currently living in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. I\'m fairly new to the whole bod mod scene, but I\'m loving it. Body modification is highly addictive, and baby, I\'m hooked. When it comes to me and mods, I am ALWAYS indecisive. I\'m not the kind of person who can think on a mod for years before getting it done, because if I do then I\'ll talk myself out of it. I have a tendancy of making up my mind on things and then booking them in ASAP, because if I don\'t then I change my mind. I\'m always scared. I always ask myself what the <b>censored</b> it is that I\'m doing before I get something done. But then, I sit in that chair, and I know that I\'ve made the right decision. I look at the finished product, and I know I\'ve made the right decision. I\'ve had people tell me that I should think about my mods more, but you know what? They\'re my mods, so what you say holds no bearing over them.
[b]Mods I currently have (in chronological order, oldest to newest) are...[/b]
Six standard lobe piercings. I had these done over a number of years, the first being when I was about five years old, most recent being a year ago, when I was 17.
Standard nose piercing. This was on my left nostril, done by myself with a large safety pin when I was fourteen. Stupid thing to do, though the piercing healed up quite nicely and the placement was good. I got bored of this piercing and took it out when I was sixteen.
Standard tongue piercing. I got this done four months after my sixteenth birthday, in a little store-room-turned piercing studio out the back of a Hairhouse Warehouse in Maribyrnong, Victoria.
Ankh over inverted pentagram tattoo, on the back of my neck. This was done three weeks after my 18th birthday, by Mim of Darwin City Tattoos, in Darwin, Northern Territory.
Red stars with Black outlines, two of them on opposing sides of my chest. These were done roughly 8 months ago, again by Mim of Darwin City Tattoo.
Standard eyebrow piercing, right side, done by Warren of Vogue Body Piercing, Darwin, Northern Territory. I love this piercing, it\'s fantastic. Unfortunately, it\'s rejecting, which is common for eyebrow piercings. When it\'s gone I\'ll miss it dearly, however it should leave me with some nice scar tissue with which to anchor the next one I get!
[b]***Brand new, as of 10/March/2008!***[/b]
Scarification piece. Three inverted stars, each inside of the next. With this piece, I opted for skin removal simply because I wanted the lines bold, and to cut too deep on the chest is a risky procedure. Considering the way I want the scars to turn out (fine and fairly pale, with not too much keloiding) I really did pick a stupid place... The chest is well known for keloiding, and my body tends to keloid when it does scar, but the piece I got it the piece I wanted, and as long as I take all due care, it should heal up just fine. It\'s very much a show piece, and is located on my chest between my existing star tattoos. I\'m extremely happy with this piece, which was done by Anders - The Piercing Guy, from Dragon\'s Lair Tattoo in Marsden, Queensland. I\'ve never had such an overwhelming feeling of satisfaction. This piece is perfect, and I couldn\'t be happier with it.
[b]Mods that I\'m considering...[/b]
Ear pointing. I just find this so intruiging. It looks fantastic, and I would love to get it done!
Dual labrets (snakebites). I\'ve always wanted these done, just never had the time to do so!
Twin industrials. Pointed ears AND industrials?! Goddamn, that\'s hot. =D
I\'m currently considering stretching out my lobes, but I haven\'t a clue on how to start, so I think I will probably end up just having them scalpled.
Nipple piercings. They look fantastic on most people, and are a much more personal piercing, I think.
Full back and partial sleeve tattoo... Angel wings. Cliche, I know, but I do want them. They\'ll be full back (top of shoulders to upper buttock) and partial sleeve (down the outsides of my upper arms). They\'ll be greyscale, so there\'ll be a LOT of shading work to be done, and this piece will take rather a while to complete.
Vertical hood piercing. I want this, simply because I do. Not for the aesthetics of it, not for the feeling. This is one of those things that I want, simply because I do.
Venoms. I want to get the dual tongue piercings because I think that they look fantastic, and aren\'t as common as the standard piercing I have now. I may or may not keep my standard tongue piercing once these are completed.
Septum piercing. I\'d like to get my septum done, but I\'m not sure if it would suit me or not, so I\'m going to have to sit down and have rather a massive chat with my piercer about it!
I\'m a strong believer in the professionals knowing best. I think that you should find a body modification artist that is not only good at their job, but who also makes you feel comfortable and who takes your ideas and thoughts into consideration before making and final decisions. I personally need to have A LOT of trust in anyone who is going to modify me, and thus far I have only been to people who have been recomended by people that I already know and trust. Anders, Mim and Warren have all been fantastic, and if it weren\'t for their time and dedication, I\'d not be the modded individual I am today! |
