Large guage septum jewelry options

Hey people, I'm after some input here from people who have some experience with larger guage septums.

When I say larger guages, I'm currently sitting at 12mm after a recent stretch. ( ;) yesterday) ( I know there will always be bigger )
With the larger sizes I've been using kaos plugs with great success. Well aside from my last attempt to hit 12mm but I think that was because I rushed the process and was not quite a clean as it should have been.

Save a bit of swelling and of course the usual tenderness, everything appears to have gone well this time.

Of course I down sized for about 2 months to let everything settle and decided it was time to try again.
Fingers crossed no issues this time around.

Ok to the question. I've found that with the stretching, the larger I go the more obvious the piercing is and the harder it is to conceal even with a tunnel or such in.

At 12 mm the flare of the tunnel now sits either side of my septum and can be seen by all.

While I know this is a cost I will have to pay for going so large, but I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on Jewelry that is
1. comfortable
2. relatively hidden considering the size and placement.

I remember at smaller guages being able to pick and choose what I wanted to stick up my nose but slowly and surely the options are becoming scarce and umm more expensive.

Is there a tunnel which has small flares so as to not poke out of my snout ??

So those who have a big hole in their snozz what do you wear in it when you're not in the mood to show it off to Mr Joe Public ??

Ive had the same issues with trying to find something that is easily concealed and comfortable. The very best thing I have found so far has been the piece of jewellery I had the least trouble finding!

Im currently at 12mm and have been bigger previously - But I didnt like the shape of my nose at a larger size.

The jewellery I am wearing is a surgical stainless screw in double flared tunnel. I bought it from Zen Collections close to a year ago.

Its much more comfortable than Kaos jewellery which I thought created a 'smell'.

I've been up to 12mm before, and I found the most easily concealable jewellery was a Wildcat Blackline flesh tube, with no flares. It did rub up against the inside of my nostrils a bit though, so I didn't wear it often.
The most comfortable jewellery I had was an IS 1/2" single flared eyelet. They are nice and short, and the flare didn't rub up against my cartilage.

What sort of length is ya flard tunnel BJ ? I had one which sounds like the same and it was about 6mm I think from flare to flare. Was a nice tight fit but I need to be fully healed before I can go back to one of them.

I find the Kaos are great, because I play sports and would hate to think what I would look like taking a hit in the snozz with a SS flared tunnel in.
SO while Im runnin around the Kaos is good but for when out and about on the town or even for work if need be something a little less obvious would be sweet.

I'll check the Single flared out cheers POX. something nice and short would be great., ALthough I dont tend to have a lot of luck with bloody o-rings up my nose. Always adjusting them.

Just hope I find something Im happy with before I spend a fortune just looking. Oh well the kaos will keep me happy for a little while at least while its healing anyway. Seems the bigger the guage the less the o-rings tend to stay in place. or is this just me ?

The length between the ends of the screw in double flared is exactly 10mm. Ask Jack if he can describe the piece of jewellery I mean any better than I can...

I did use a Kaos tunnel for a while with the ends cut down in size slightly. Still very slippery and not ever quite secure enough for me to sleep comfortably with!

Have you tried glass? I had success with glass at around 8mm.

i'm at 9mm cos' any bigger and i'm pushing cartilage and changing the shape of my snout, but either way i've been wearing a custom no-flare tunnel for about 3 years now and its comfy and pretty well concealed.
the no flare bars from glasswearstudios.com are also pretty comfortable, not to mention pretty damn cheap and they do custom lengths as well.

Oh well now we're back up and running (good to see) I'll let you know I tried Bj's cutdown Kaos technique. I must say a big thanks here BJ. Worked a treat.
The area was becoming very irritated and sore to the touch. Not to mention the rudolph look wasnt the thing I was after. So some nail scissors and a shite load of detol later I now have what I would call a good fit.
Seems it was the flares which were rubbing in the top of my nose and causing the grief. Its not a lot less obvious as well. No real issues with movement here either. I didnt cut them down completely. I'll buy a few more and see how far I can get with them .
Up to 10mm was a walk in the park but the 12 has been a bit of a pain in the arse. The first attempt just didnt go well as I said. Now I'm finding this size jewelry even for silicone has changed the shape of my nose. Definately looks more bulbous. Still not the look Im going for. I'll stick it out for a while longer to see if it settles in more as it may wear the catlidge after a bit and move up slightly. Else I will try some other Jewelry, though I cant see anything more solid reducing the size of my snout.

Thanks again BJ you certainly help the healing process and saved me be uncomfortable ...at least til I stumbled across the idea myself. U r a Gem:27

I thought I'd post my question here rather than create a new post

Has anyone had success with Kaos Tunnels in septums at 4ga? I ask because I tried an earskin when I was at 6ga and found it impossible to get in.

4ga is still pretty small for earskins. I can't really say though because I don't use silicone except for o-rings. Maybe ask Kaos themselves.

I haven't done it myself but the tip i've heard for small gauge earskins is getting some really fine tweezers, squishing the earskin down with them, then insert the whole lot through the hole and slide out the tweezers and the earskin will pop back into shape. just something i've heard not something i've done, so if you try it be sensible and don't hurt yourself :-P

My biggest fear with an earskin in the septum is not being able to get it back out again.

can be a bit tricky to get in & out, especially at that size I imagine, but far from impossible
